Beautiful Garden this summer, Viscious Mosquitoes, Low Work Motivation! BLT's without the L - not because we don't like L... To sum up this summer's garden project -- pretty.. chaotic.. mess of fun!

May and June

Planted the entire garden on Memorial day. Finished in a rain storm. Crazy weather! Things are popping up nicely. The deer have found the broccoli and chomped it down pretty good. Forgot to plant half of one row, so trying to decide if it's too late to stick something in that area! Thinking peas, flowers... Tried some re-arranging of rows. Planted the corn rows N/S surrounded by pumpkins and gourds. Looks like it's going to work nicely. Everything else stayed E/W rows. I think I like it!

School cabbage plant has place of honor in middle of garden between the spinach plants. At the end of summer, we're supposed to take a picture of it to the teacher to be submitted for the largest cabbage scholarship award. The deer or rabbits have found it, though, and have been nibbling. Bri's worried! I think we're going to have to come up with a cabbage crow.

October Rain!

A lot of rain here! The trails are soaked. You can't walk without getting covered in mud. It's not very warm, and the colors aren't even close to being pretty yet!

In between the rain days, we've had a chance to get the garden cleaned up. Everything has been picked. It looks so neat and peaceful!!

Bird House Gourds

The bird house gourds never did come up. Wondering if it's because we used seeds from last years gourds...

We did end up with two baskets of decorative gourds all shapes and colors. They're gorgeous. Hoping to get a basket to Annette's before the fall season is over!! :)

Pumpkin Rot!

Our pumpkins are rotting on the vine! Wondering if it's the strange weather we've had? All of the extra rain? Cool weather? The pumpkins left look nice, just not very many and they're pretty small.

Speaking of Social Problems...

A lot of things going on in the news lately. :(

If everyone gardened, the world would be a much kinder and gentler place!

Social Problem!

I had a chance to go into Dave's Daily Garden Blog! He shared a social problem with his peppers -- it is too funny!! Dave says people are avoiding him because they don't want any more of his peppers!! Or any other veggies he's trying to give them!!

Hope Annette and I haven't had the same social problem!!
